Cookie policy
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help a site work properly, and they can tell the site’s owner how the site is being used.
2. How we use them
We keep our use of cookies to a minimum. We use two kinds: strictly necessary cookies, which make the site work, and analytics cookies, which tell us how the site is used. We do not use advertising cookies, social media cookies or cross-site tracking, and we do not sell data collected through cookies.
Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them.
3. Your choice
When you first visit noetic.ltd you are asked whether to accept analytics cookies. Nothing but the strictly necessary cookies is set until you choose. You can accept or reject them, and rejecting costs you nothing – the site works exactly the same either way.
You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent stops any further analytics cookies being set and is as easy as giving it.
4. The cookies we use
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Consent preference | Strictly necessary | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so you are not asked again | 12 months |
| Session cookie | Strictly necessary | Keeps the website working during your visit | Until you close your browser |
_ga | Analytics (consent) | Google Analytics. Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years |
_ga_[ID] | Analytics (consent) | Google Analytics. Keeps track of a single visit | 2 years |
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site – which pages are read, and how long people stay. Google acts as our processor for this. Google’s own privacy information is at policies.google.com/privacy. We have set analytics data to be deleted after 14 months, and we have not enabled Google advertising features or data sharing.
If we change the cookies we use, we will update this table and, where consent is required, ask you again before setting them.
5. Third-party cookies
Our website may embed content from third-party services, such as externally hosted video. Those providers may set their own cookies, which we do not control. Please see the relevant provider’s cookie policy.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
Separately from our cookie settings, you can control and delete cookies through your browser. Most browsers let you see what is stored and delete it, block third-party cookies, block all cookies, or clear everything when you close the browser.
Blocking all cookies can affect how websites work. Blocking ours will not stop you using noetic.ltd.
7. The law
This policy reflects the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR. Under PECR, cookies that are not strictly necessary require your consent before they are set. That is why analytics cookies on this site wait for your answer.
